This small fragment of a ceramic disk is made from a re-purposed Kura-Araxes pot sherd. Although broken (likely in half), the edges of this ceramic object show that it was previously symmetrical and worked into a smooth, circular form. There is enough remaining of the disk to measure its diameter and acquire an understanding of its overall form. The disk is made from black and red burnished ware. It is the appropriate coarseness and thickness for KA period materials. The temper is visibly on the "red" surface. The object is noticeably -- and intentionally -- smooth on its faces and along its edges.
