This tuff disk is visibly worked around its edges. The rounded nature suggests that the stone was intentionally made into a circular form. Although there are some still noticeable jagged or angular edges, the artificial (or man made) nature of the morphology is nonetheless discernible. The tool is moderately smooth and flat on both sides. It seems possible that while this artifact visibly fits the criteria for a "disk," it functionally may have been utilized as a polishing tool. The palm-size of the tool moreover suggests that it could have served such a function. The specks and sedimentary inclusions discernible from on the surface of the tool as well as the brownish orange/ red coloring indicate that it is made of tuff.
