This andiron fragment is comparable in form to the others uncovered in T38. It is an undecorated, triangular shape that is heterogenous or uneven in its color composition. This could be the result of its association with burning activity or could simply be the product of poor preservation. Part of its surface coloring is black, pale brown, and part light brown. Looking at the fragmented end of the object, which would have joined the body it is clear that the clay was tempered with some sort of chaff. The width measurement corresponds to the widest part of the object, at the narrow tip it is 24.52mm.
