This context refers to the loose gold/ tan classic Gegharot bedrock east of locus 4, the north-south wall. Situated below locus 2, the wash layer this locus is completely sterile -- devoid of obsidian, ceramics, and bone. The width indicated above is an average, because it ranges from 1.6 to 2.9m. Locus 4 is built right up against this locus. We excavated this locus until it was entirely sterile.
