Place: Ar/Ge.T44.10

This locus refers to the dark grey silt west of locus 3 and east of locus 12. It is characterized by a moderately compact, poorly sorted sediment that contains some small rock inclusions. It appears to be sitting atop locus 3 (the tanish sediment), but we will confirm this upon continued excavation. The shape of this locus is fairly triangular, with the wider part in the southern part of the trench -- specifically close to the western half of locus 6 (the east-west wall). The northern part of this context abuts locus 9 (the cluster of stones in the NW corner). The matrix itself is fairly similar (if not the same as) locus 12, but a spatial or locus designation was assigned because the latter was an expansion.
